Continental Re held the Pan-African Insurance and Reinsurance Journalism Awards ceremony in Cape Town, South Africa, on 8 April 2025.
For this 10th edition, over 150 entries were received from 19 African countries, spanning English-speaking, French-speaking, and Arabic-speaking regions.
The first “Overall Winner” award, worth 2 000 USD, was presented to Patrick Alushula of Nation Media Group (Kenya) for his article entitled “Data privacy penalties’ pain fuels uptake of cyber insurance”.
In addition to this first prize, cash awards of 1 500 USD, 1 000 USD and 500 USD were given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners respectively in each of the following categories:

- Winner: Blessing Ifechukwude (Nigeria)
- 1st runner-up: Destiny Onyemihia (Nigeria)
- 2nd runner-up: Ridwan Karim Dini-Osman (Ghana)
Print media - English
- Winner: Patrick Alushula (Kenya)
- 1st runner-up: Isaac Khisa (Uganda)
- 2nd runner-up: Nanjinia Wamuswa (Kenya)
Online press - English
- Winner: Okello Jesus Ojala (Uganda)
- 1st runner-up: Nelson Mandela Muhoozi (Uganda)
- 2nd runner-up: Etornam Agbemor (Ghana)
Online, print and broadcast media - French
- Winner: Rabo Oumarou (Burkina Faso)
- 1st runner-up: Ghassan Waïl El Karmouni (Morocco)
- 2nd runner-up: Bahwa Ferdinand (Burundi)

- Winner: Eslam Sherif (Egypt)
- 1st runner-up: Ibraheem Issa (Egypt)
- 2nd runner-up: Mohamed Azab Tawfik (Egypt)
