A woman receives 4 774 USD for the death of her cat

Vreni, a 70-year-old retiree has just lost Murphy, her 18-year-old cat to a car accident.

The animal died during its transfer to the veterinary clinic. Vreni received 4 500 CHF (4 774.05 USD) from the driver's third part liability insurance for the emotional damage caused to the cat's owner.

Vreni decided to grant the sum to animal-protection foundations.
