Zurich Kotak General Insurance has introduced a new complementary insurance product, “EV Protect”, designed to enhance its existing “Car Secure” motor insurance offering.
Tailored specifically for electric vehicle (EV) owners in India, including Tesla drivers, the solution addresses key risks unique to EVs.
Called “EV Protect”, the solution covers key EV components such as the battery and motor against unforeseen risks including power surges, short circuits, water damage and damage to charging equipment due to theft or rodent infestation.
In addition to this specialized coverage, the product includes compulsory third-party liability insurance in line with current regulatory requirements, as well as personal accident cover.
