Pharmacist accused of having defrauded two helath insurance funds

Assurance maladie FranceA pharmacy owner based in Val-de-Marne, a department of Grand Paris, will appear on June 12, 2023 before the Criminal Court of Créteil for fraud and attempted fraud on two social security organizations: the Caisse Primaire d'Assurance Maladie (CPAM) of Val-de-Marne and that of the department of Seine-et-Marne.

The case began in December 2017 when the CPAM of Val-de-Marne filed a complaint against the pharmacy owner.

The 50-year-old pharmacist was reimbursed, between 2014 and 2018, for expensive pharmaceutical products by presenting falsified medical prescriptions and making false statements. The total damage is estimated at 1.2 million EUR (1.305 million USD).

During her hearing, the accused admitted the facts, explaining that the financial difficulties of her pharmacy led her to defraud the two social security funds.
