Munich Re: results as at 30 September 2022

During the first nine months of 2022, Munich Re's turnover has reached 50.91 billion EUR (49.542 billion USD), increasing by 14% over one year.

As at 30 September 2022, the net profit stood at 1.903 billion EUR (1.851 billion USD), representing a 7.6% drop compared to the same period in 2021.

During the period under review, the Covid-19 pandemic has cost the group's life and health (L&H) class of business 35 million EUR (34.06 million USD).

Natural catastrophe losses amounted to 1.827 billion EUR (1.778 billion USD) in Q3 2022. The most expensive loss was hurricane Ian with an estimated cost of 1.6 billion EUR (1.557 billion USD) for Munich Re.
