Brazil hit by deadly floods

natural catastrophe BrazilIn the week of 20 February 2023, the southeast of Brazil was struck by torrential rains that resulted in flooding and landslides. As of 26 February 2023, 65 people have lost their lives and 2 400 have been displaced.

The Vila Sahy community in Sao Sebastiao, a city located 200 kilometers from the state of Sao Paulo, is the area most affected by the natural catastrophe.

Experts believe that the floods are mainly the result of climate change and uncontrolled urbanization.
