Major cyber attack in the United States

Managed Care of North America (MCNA Dental), a US dental insurance company, has been hit by a major cyber attack.

The "LockBit" hacker group gained access to personal information belonging to 8.9 million clients. The stolen data includes names, birth dates, addresses, phone numbers, social security numbers and insurance details.

Sources close to the case claim that LockBit demanded a ransom of 10 million USD from the insurer. When the latter failed to pay the amount, the cyber criminals posted the stolen files on a Dark Web page in April 2023.
