French broker Résurgence Assurances sanctioned

acprThe French Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority (ACPR) has banned the broker Résurgence Assurances, formerly known as Viva Conseil, from carrying out insurance intermediation activities for seven years. The ACPR has also imposed a 20 000 EUR (19 823.6 USD) fine on the French broker.

This decision was motivated by a series of regulatory breaches in the sale of health insurance contracts via telephone canvassing.

Annie Afchain, appointed Manager of Résurgence Assurances, has been fined 10 000 EUR (9 911.8 USD) and banned from practicing insurance mediation for five years.

Pascal Evrard, de facto Manager and 99% shareholder of the company, has been fined 20 000 EUR (19 823.6 USD) and banned from practicing insurance mediation for seven years.
