Generali: 2022 results

GeneraliGenerali has ended the 2022 financial year with a 7.5% turnover growth to 81.538 billion EUR (87.1 billion USD) against 75.825 billion EUR (85.7 billion USD) in 2021.

Life underwriting has progressed by 1.6% from 51.68 billion EUR (58.5 billion USD) as at 31 December 2021 to 52.902 billion EUR (56.5 billion USD) one year later.

Non-life premiums, for their part, have reached 28.636 billion EUR (30.6 billion USD), which represents an 18.6% increase over a year. The non-life combined ratio has lost 2.4 points to stand at 93.2%.

The Italian group's annual net profit was up by 2.3% to 2.912 billion EUR (3.1 billion USD) compared to the 2.847 billion EUR (3.2 billion USD) posted in 2021. By the end of 2022, the operating result amounted to 6.509 billion EUR (6.9 billion USD), showing an 11.2% growth over one year.

The company's shareholders' equity has dropped by 44.7% to 16.201 billion EUR (17.3 billion USD).

Generali has proposed the distribution of a dividend of 1.16 EUR (1.2 USD) per share, payable as of 24 May 2023.
