Typhoon Nanmadol in Japan: estimated insured losses
On 18 September 2022, typhoon Nanmadol has severely struck Japan provoking floods and landslides. The disaster claimed four lives and caused significant material damage.
According to the research firm PERILS, the loss would amount to 120 billion JPY (908.5 million USD) for all Japanese insurers. As at 1 November 2022, the amount of insured losses linked to the tropical cyclone was estimated at 114 billion JPY (768.11 million USD).
