Entry into force of the unified health insurance agreement in Oman

The Unified Agreement for Health Insurance Scheme came into effect in January 2023.

Set up by the Omani Capital Market Authority (CMA), this document aims to regulate the relationship between the different market stakeholders : insurers, private health institutions and health insurance claims management companies.

The new contract would also :

• regulate, unify and accelerate transactions
• improve the quality of services provided
• reduce disputes and conflicts of interest
• promote the digitalization of the sector through the electronic platform "Dhamani"

This initiative is part of the CMA's 2021-2025 strategy aiming to develop the Omani insurance market.
