Rawsur and Rawsur Life lead the DRC insurance market
According to the Insurance Regulatory and Supervisory Authority (ARCA), the insurance market of the Democratic Republic of Congo has recorded a turnover of 220 million USD in 2021 and 70 million USD in 2019.
The number of insurance companies operating on the Congolese market has grown by a factor of 2.5 in three years, going from 4 to 10, 7 of which are specialized in non-life and 3 in life insurance. By the end of 2021, the DRC also has 29 insurance intermediaries.
Rawsur and Rawsur Life are the two leading companies in the market in terms of premiums with shares of 31.31% and 74.16% respectively.
