Swiss Re: 2024 edition of the emerging risks report

Swiss ReIn its 12th “SONAR 2024” report, Swiss Re identifies 16 emerging risks that could potentially impact the insurance industry and society as a whole. The study reveals that the world is facing interconnected crises that may give rise to new risks.

The increasing frequency and severity of natural disasters as a result of climate change may not only lead to property damage and loss of life, but also present additional risks such as supply chain disruptions.

Global warming and supply chain problems, coupled with persistent underfunding, also affect healthcare infrastructures.

The weakening of healthcare services leads to more societal risks, delays or inadequate care, which can in turn cause morbidity and mortality rates to go up.
