Low insurance penetration rate in Tunisia

According to the General Insurance Committee (CGA), the insurance penetration rate in Tunisia stood at 2.5% in 2021. This rate is still below the levels recorded in emerging countries and the world average which was set at 7% in 2021.

Insurance density in the country reached 235.8 TND (81.8 USD) in 2021, against 217.8 TND (80.4 USD) in 2020, increasing by 8.3% over one year. Despite this evolution, the density remains very low compared to the world average of 2 447 TND (902.8 USD).
