Cherif Benhabiles, new President of the African Insurance Organization

Cherif Benhabiles, General Manager of the National Agricultural Mutual Fund (CNMA), has been elected President of the African Insurance Organization (AIO).

This decision was taken at the close of the 49^th AIO conference, held in Algiers from 27 to 31 May 2023 under the theme: "The contribution of insurance to food security challenges in Africa".

Holder of an Executive MBA from the Ecole Supérieure des Affaires (Algiers), C. Benhabiles embarked on his professional career with the Compagnie Algérienne d'Assurance et de Réassurance (CAAR). In 2008, he joined CNMA, becoming General Manager five years later (2013).

Prior to his recent appointment, C. Benhabiles had been Vice-President of the AIO since July 2022.
