CIMA zone: Atlas MagazineThe Atlas Magazine ranking is a classification of non-life companies in the CIMA zone. It is established by the Atlas Group based on the 2021 statistics provided by the Federation of African National Insurance Companies (FANAF).

The ranking provides a general classification of non-life companies in the sub-region according to a scoring system which includes turnover, operating results/written premiums, combined ratio, shareholders' equity, rate of coverage of regulated commitments, assets accepted in representation, turnover per class of business and productivity per employee.

Atlas Magazine's ranking of the top 10 companies

Sanlam Assurance (Côte d'Ivoire) has been chosen, for the sixth consecutive year, as the best company in the CIMA zone in 2021.

The Ivorian insurers Allianz Assurances and Sunu Assurances IARD are ranked second and third in the top 10. In 2020, the second place in the ranking was occupied by Assinco (Gabon), which dropped to ninth place, ex aequo with SMABTP, Côte d'Ivoire.

Sanlam Assurance (Gabon) comes in fourth place in the 2021 Atlas Magazine top ten ranking.

Senegal has two companies in the top 10, namely Sonam Mutuelle (fifth) and AXA Assurances SA (eighth).

It should be noted that not a single insurer from Cameroon, one of the traditional leaders in the CIMA zone, is listed among the 10 winners.
