Europ Assistance acquires the activities of MAPFRE Asistencia in the Middle East

europ assistanceFollowing acquisitions in Thailand, Malaysia and Australia, Europ Assistance pursues its international expansion strategy, notably in the Middle East.

The Generali group's subsidiary has acquired a 74.6% stake in Gulf Assist from MAPFRE Asistencia. Based in Bahrain, Gulf Assist is a subsidiary of the Spanish insurer with a presence in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.

Through this operation, Europ Assistance has become the new leader in assistance in the region, with revenues generated in ten countries including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Jordan.

Enrique Ballesteros, former General Manager of Gulf Assist, will now manage Europ Assistance's activities in the Middle East.

Founded in 1963, Europ Assistance operates in more than 200 countries and territories through its network of 750.000 approved service providers and 43 assistance centers.

The group offers several services: car assistance, personal assistance, travel insurance, protection of the elderly and digital identity, telemedicine, concierge services, etc.
