Insured losses estimates on the rise

The first toll for the losses caused by the floods refers to approximately 6.5 billion USD. According to Aon Benfield, damages reported by industrialists have not yet been fully accounted for. Ultimately, insurers’ losses will certainly exceed the bar of 10 billion USD. Swiss Re estimates its own losses at 600 million USD. Munich Re will set aside a pre–tax reserve of approximately 500 million USD.
