The country's first insurer with 14% of market shares and an annual turnover of 10 billion EUR (13.2 million USD), MAPFRE has substituted its status of a mutual company for that of a limited company listed in the stock exchange. The company proceeded to a capital increase of 3.45 billion EUR (4.55 billion USD).
