The Saudi insurance market is ready for a phase of mergers and acquisitions. To generate jobs and provide an alternative to oil, the authorities have recently granted approval to thirty new companies. The speed at which the licenses were issued did not allow the new entities to become profitable, prompting some to consider merger and acquisition moves.
