Apr 2011 Hiscox has published its 2010 results. The turnover stagnated at 1.43 billion GBP (2.2 billion USD). The technical results were down due to the natural catastrophes that have severely impacted the year. The combined ratio increased by three points while still remaining excellent at 89.3%.
Pre-tax profits fell by 34% at 211.4 million GBP (327 million USD). Natural disasters have set the result back 165 million GBP (255 million USD).
