Aqaba was designated by the General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF) to host on May 11, 2011 the third international conference on marine insurance & transportation. The Jordanian Insurance Federation (JOIF), the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI) and the Shipping Agents Association (SAA) would take part. The conference theme is "Surfing in a turbulent legal environment".
