Insurance companies Sompo Japan and Nipponkoa are due to complete their merger process in September 2014. Last year, the two companies, which established a joint head office, started the standardization and rationalization process of their operations. Underwriting and management offices have also been gathered under one roof. As of April 1, 2013, the two insurers have started the integration process of management teams. Thanks to these measures designed to increase productivity, NKSJ Holdings is expecting savings worth 584 million USD.
