Feb 2006 Qatar Islamic Insurance Company (QIIC) has announced its record high profits of 173.2 million QAR (47 598 000 USD) for the year 2005, that is, a 318% increase in comparison with 2004. The shareholders' next General Assembly set for February 27, 2006 should approve the increase of the company's paid-up capital from 50 to 100 million QAR (13 737 000 to 27 474 000 USD).
