Apr 2006 The Japanese subsidiary company of the American giant AIG has invested 3.5 million EUR (4.2 million USD) for the creation of an online insurance company named Rakuten Insurance Planning. The new entity which is held at 20% by AIG and at 80% by Rakuten, first virtual Japanese trade centre, will be offering low-cost non-life policies.
