May 2006 Claiming the second position as a life and non-life insurer on the French market, the group has displayed an operational result of 543 million EUR (679.61 million USD) in 2005, with a 42% increase in comparison with the 382 million EUR (478.10 million USD) reported in 2004, on a turnover in progression of 11% at 13.4 billion EUR (16.77 billion USD). The net result has reached 294 million EUR (368.25 million USD), that is, a 19% increase.
The group, which aims at polishing its image under Generali's unique brand, continues its restructuring in view of a possible merger of its different subsidiaries.
