Jul 2013 The regulatory authorities of the insurance markets in the countries of East Africa met in Bujumbura in late May 2013. During this meeting, a number of measures have been taken such as the sharing of data on cross-border insurance operations and increased cooperation.
These measures follow the signing in 2010 of a memorandum stipulating the implementation of a strategy based on data exchange and the supervision of insurance companies operating on a regional basis.
