The South African non-life insurer Hollard Insurance celebrated its ten years of existence in Namibia. Hollard Insurance Namibia controls 20% of the local market. During the past decade, the turnover of the insurer has increased exponentially, with gross written premiums increasing by 19% per year over the last five years.
The turnover achieved in 2012 amounted to 750 million NAD (88 million USD), including business from Zambia, where the company set up a non-life subsidiary in December 2012. Hollard Namibia today accounts for 25% of total premium income of the Hollard Group.
