Feb 2014 On the occasion of a conference organized by Allianz Africa and Allianz France, Allianz has reaffirmed its interest in the African market. The group which sees in the continent a potential future market of 2.6 billion insured bet on the launch of new products and distribution channels to expand its business.
In 2012, Allianz Africa has recorded a total of 177 million USD of gross written premiums, 80.3% came from South Africa alone, the northern, west, east and south (excluding South Africa) accounting respectively for 8.1%, 4 %, 1.6% and 4.6% of the total.
The insurer sets a target for 2013 of 198 million USD of gross written premiums on the continent.
