Mar 2014 Allianz is the sponsor of Bayern Munich stadium since 2005. The internal complex has been renamed “Allianz Arena” for the occasion. The Munich-based insurance group has recently strengthened its partnership with the city’s football club. It enters the capital of the current European champion with shares of 8.33% and 110 million EUR (151 million USD), thus affixing its name to the stadium until 2041.
The funds received will enable Bayern Munich to expand its training center and reduce its debt. Allianz also intends to offer insurance products to supporters of Bayern club and to market them thanks to the club's website.
