Axa has acquired 4 Colombian insurance companies

Axa has completed the acquisition of four insurance companies Grupo Mercantil Colpatria. The transaction, amounting to 342 million USD, grants to Axa 51% of insurance activities of the Colombian group. Activities of Seguros Colpatria, Seguros de Vida Colpatria, Capitalizadora Colpatria and Colpatria Medecina Prepagada will be integrated into the Mediterranean and Latin America regions of the French insurer.

Axa indicates becoming, through this operation, the 4th insurer of Colombia and the 2nd damages insurer.
