According to Andrew Duxbury, underwriting manager of Munich Re, the cancellation of the 2014 World Cup of football would cost nearly 300 million USD to Munich Re.
Accustomed to major sporting events, the world's largest reinsurer has to its credit to cover multiple World Cups, Olympic Games and Formula 1 Grand Prix.
