Nov 2014 The volume of insurance premiums attained 152.6 million KWD (542.8 million USD) in Kuwait during the first half of 2014. It is higher by 8.2% than the performance of the first six months of the year before.
Should the trend be maintained, the turnover of the market could exceed the 300 million KWD (1.07 billion USD) at the end of the year.
The number of policies underwritten during the first half year, however, is down at 790 100 on June 30, 2014, against 840 000 on June 30, 2013. This decrease is due to lower demand for motor insurance.
