Nov 2014 Brian Reilly, CEO of Zurich Insurance Middle East (ZIME), has denied the reported intention of its company to stop its Lebanese operations.
"Zurich remains totally committed to the Lebanese market through its ZIME branch. The closure of Zurich Insurance Company Ltd will have no impact on [their] operations in Lebanon", said the managing director.
This statement comes as a response to rumors reffering to the departure of the Zurich group from Lebanon following the closure of its subsidiary Zurich Insurance Company Ltd.
Note that Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. (formerly ALPINA Insurance Company), the Lebanese subsidiary of the group, had been dormant during 12 years before the closure process was engaged.
