On the opening session of the 5thDamascus Insurance Forum , the minister of finance has announced that he would be expecting the Syrian insurance growth to be of 60% in the next two years. The market is poised to rise from a premiums' volume of 313 million USD in 2009 to that of 500 million USD in 2011. The insurance penetration rate is likely to reach 2% over two years. The year 2010 will witness the start of health insurance, the nation's most important project.
