The general insurance committee (CGA) has begun collaboration with the World Bank with a view to assessing motor insurance pricing. This class of business, which accounts for nearly half of the total turnover of the sector, is heavily loss-making.
It is drastically penalizing the results of Tunisian insurers who are still trying to respond by increasing the rates of facultative covers.
CGA is intent on establishing in the coming years a databank designed to help balance the turnover for this class of business.
