Mar 2015 The growth of the Malaysian life insurance is still in progress. Insured capital increased by 6.9% at 1170 billion MYR (334 billion USD) in 2014. The number of insurance policies rose to 12.4 million, that is, 148 574 more over one year.
In 2014, new insurance policies rose by 9.3%. The total life premium volume has therefore gone up reaching 8.95 billion MYR (2.5 billion USD) in 2014.
These good figures reflect the growing interest exhibited by the Malaysian people in life insurance which goes along with the improvement in their purchasing power.
