The global reinsurance market grew by 4% in 2014

The figures released in the September Rendez-Vous in Monte Carlo pointed a 4% increase in the global reinsurance market in 2014.

During the reporting period, the premiums collected reached 250 billion USD. The top ten reinsurers shared 65% of the global market. Munich Re, Swiss Re and Hannover Re, members of the top three, showed a combined turnover of 91 billion USD.

Regarding reinsurance brokerage, the five most influential brokers: AON Benfield, Guy Carpenter, Willis, JLT Re and Cooper Gay totaled a premium volume valued at nearly 4 billion USD.
