Oct 2015 In early 2016, Generali Germany will launch a new health insurance called "Vitality". The cost of this offer will be based on the insured's healthy behavior. Thanks to this optional coverage, people who adopt a healthy lifestyle (a sporting activity, choosing a healthy diet, etc.) and good preventive reflexes (screening, frequent consultation with a physician) will benefit from special rates on their insurance policy.
The proper functioning of the whole package will be provided by an Android application developed with the South African insurer Discovery and will be designed to collect data on the policy holder's lifestyle.
After Germany, the Italian insurer plans to expand this coverage to the French and the Austrian markets.
