In 2014, Airtel Madagascar launched a new insurance product called Antoka, the fruit of a joint association involving MicroEnsure and Allianz, allowing Airtel subscribers to have access to insurance through their use of telephone.
Coverage in case of death, disability or hospitalization has been made available based on various levels of monthly phone use.
The initiative of Airtel and its partners contributes in improving the penetration rate of insurance which is now set at 0.56% in Madagascar.
