Dec 2015 Lloyd's plans to launch its own index-based insurance in mid 2016. In the upcoming months, Lloyd's will discuss the initiative with the UK market and regulators.
Lloyd's Index [4] will be presented quarterly. It will display the loss ratio on an aggregate basis, the complete data of the market being reserved for subscribers. The indicator should enable brokers and other industry professionals to better manage diverse risks through increased visibility over loss ratios and market performance. Other indicators, defined by category of assets, should expand the service in the future.
