This finding is based on the premiums written in 2014. The American group precedes Scor and Lloyd's. The reinsurer is made up not only of Berkshire Hathaway Reinsurance Group and General Re but also of GEICO and Berkshire Hathaway Speciality Insurance (BHSI).
Its reinsurance subsidiaries generated 14.92 billion USD in premiums in 2014. French Scor remains in fifth place despite the 10.4% increase in its revenues in dollars.
