Apr 2016 British insurer has reported 2.58 billion GBP (3.8 billion USD) in net profits for 2015, a 16% increase. Operational results have jumped by 26% to be set at 4 billion GBP (5.9 billion USD). The remarkable 21% increase of underwritings at 5.6 billion GBP (8.3 billion USD) is consolidating the company’s recent strategic choices. Prudential is targeting Asian, North American and British markets.
Some specific populations and products have been targeted in each of the areas mentioned.
The insurer has stated being the leader in 9 out of the 12 Asian countries where it is operating. Half the new premiums written come from Asian markets.
