The financial crisis has not spared the leading Dutch insurer EUREKO who announced the suppression of 2500 jobs up to 2010, that is, 10% of its labour force.
This restructuring plan comes within the framework of cost-reducing measures designed to yield annual savings of 300 million EUR (423 million USD).
As a reminder, the group reported 2.1 billion EUR (2.9 billion USD) in losses in 2008. Life insurance went down by 12% at 4.54 billion EUR (6.4 billion USD) and non-life insurance's technical results have shrunk by 32% at 172 million USD (242 million USD).
