Jordanian insurers claim the deregulation of motor TPL insurance

Between 2005 and 2015, losses pertaining to motor third party liability insurance (TPL) amounted to 220 million JOD (312 million USD ).

This deficit is expected to increase further and reach 240 million JOD (340 million USD) at the end of 2016.
For insurers, these results are accounted for by the weakness of the compulsory tariff in force. It is worth noting that motor third party liability insurance represent 27.4% of 2015 non life premiums. On the other hand, it generated 57.9% of claims paid by non life insurers.
