Attijariwafa bank and SNI are now equal shareholders in Wafa Assurance

The financial group Attijariwafa bank has ceded part of its shares in Wafa Assurance to the national investment company (SNI).

Taking effect in 2017, this transaction will allow SNI to become an equal-share shareholder with Attijariwafa bank in the capital of the Moroccan insurer.

The funds generated by this transaction should not only facilitate the compliance of the banking group Attijariwafa bank with the new Basel III regulations but also accelerate its expansion in English-speaking African countries.
