The department of insurance and social security (DAPS) and the Moroccan federation of insurance and reinsurance companies (FMSAR) have elaborated a project for the settlement of claims based on the mediation between the different stakeholders involved. The purpose is to smoothen the settlement of claims without having to make recourse to courts.
Policyholders and beneficiaries will have access to this service free of charge as of January 1, 2016. This mediation shall not apply to bodily injuries, though. Mohammed Saidi has been appointed mediator of the insurance market. M. Saidi has been entrusted with several duties in the Moroccan insurance sector, especially at DAPS, SCR or within the Moroccan federation of insurance and reinsurance companies upon which he had presided for two years.
