UAE: The current motor insurance policies governed by the old regulation

The UAE authorities have recently amended the insurance code with a view of strengthening the protection of insured persons by promoting good practices within insurance companies. This is particularly the case in motor insurance, where the definitions of terms are clearly mentioned, for instance accident, driver, etc. These changes take into account the economic and social developments in the country. However, the current insurance policies will remain governed by the previous regulations. They will refer to the new legislation only when they are renewed.
