The farmers having made recourse to climate comprehensive insurance schemes for their cereal crops have been fully refunded for the losses they had sustained in the course of 2015-2016, an insurance plan that is supported by the State.
This scheme has covered an area of 1.1 million hectares of land, 32% of the area dedicated to cereals and vegetable crops. The compensation has amounted to 1.02 billion MAD (103.6 million USD).
