The Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) shareholders, recently gathered at a general meeting, have approved the 15% increase in the company's capital which increased to 2.77 billion QAR (761 million USD).
As a reminder, the first Qatari insurer achieved strong performances in 2016: the group's consolidated turnover amounted to 9.9 billion QAR (2.72 billion USD), with a 19% increase compared to 2015. The Bermuda, Malta and London subsidiaries remain the most profitable ones with 70% of the Group's overall written premiums.
